Honey Garlic Wings

These wings get crispy in the oven without any frying, and the honey garlic sauce is sticky and savory without being too sweet. I like to make extra sauce because it's good on everything.

Ingredients

Ingredients (~8 servings)

  • 3 lbs chicken wings cut into drumettes and flats
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 3/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds optional
  • 3/4 tsp parsley optional, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels.
  • Toss wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread wings in a single layer without overcrowding.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and 165F internal temperature.
  • During the last few minutes of baking, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan.
  • Simmer sauce over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • Transfer cooked wings to a clean bowl and toss with warm sauce until well coated.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley if desired and serve immediately.
