Homemade Hamburger Helper
This is way better than the boxed stuff and costs about half as much. Takes ~30 minutes and uses ingredients I always have on hand.

Ingredients
Ingredients (~6-8 servings)

lean ground beef

medium onion
~1 cup, chopped

garlic powder

beef broth

uncooked elbow macaroni

freshly grated cheddar cheese

Instructions
Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a soup pot over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes, breaking up meat as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in tomato paste, garlic powder, and chili powder until distributed.
Add beef broth and bring to a boil over high heat. Add macaroni.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered for 13-15 minutes until pasta is tender and most liquid is absorbed, stirring every few minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in grated cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Notes
Let sit 2 minutes before serving for best texture, or serve immediately.
