Homemade Applesauce
This makes about 4 cups of applesauce that's way better than the store-bought stuff. You can control the sweetness and it's ready in under an hour.

Ingredients
Ingredients (~6 servings)

~4 1/2 lbs apples
about 9 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into chunks

water

fresh lemon juice

white sugar

ground cinnamon

Instructions
Combine chopped apples, water, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large pot and stir.
Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low and cover.
Simmer for 30 minutes until apples are completely soft.
Remove from heat and mash with a potato masher for desired texture.
Serve warm or refrigerate until cold.
Notes
Keeps refrigerated for about a week. For smooth applesauce, use an immersion blender instead of mashing.
