Garlic Butter Pasta
This is one of those dishes you can make when there's almost nothing in the kitchen - just pasta, butter, garlic, and some cheese. It takes about 15 minutes and costs maybe $3 to feed everyone.

Ingredients
Ingredients (~6 servings)

pasta
spaghetti or whatever long noodles you have
▢
1/3
cup
butter
salted
▢
2
cloves
garlic
minced
▢
3/4
cup
parmesan cheese
freshly grated, plus more for serving
▢
Salt and pepper to taste
▢
1 1/2
tsp
fresh parsley
chopped
Instructions
Bring salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups pasta water before draining.
While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large pan over low heat.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 30-45 seconds, then turn off heat.
Drain pasta and add to pan with garlic butter, tossing to coat.
Add parmesan and toss again.
Add reserved pasta water 1/4 cup at a time, tossing until sauce is glossy and silky.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Top with parsley and extra parmesan, then serve immediately.
Notes
Pasta water and cheese are salty, so season carefully.
