Instructions
Melt butter and cool for 5 minutes.
Whisk brown sugar and granulated sugar with melted butter until combined.
Add egg and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth.
In separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350F and line baking sheet with parchment.
Scoop 3-tablespoon dough balls, place 2-3 inches apart on baking sheet.
Bake 14-16 minutes until edges are set.
Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
Notes
Makes 18 cookies. Use room temperature egg for best results.
