This is a simple quick bread that's ready in under an hour and uses ingredients you probably have on hand. The beer adds a subtle malty flavor and helps create a tender crumb without any kneading.

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp table salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • Whisk together sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  • Pour in beer and stir just until combined.
  • Spoon batter into prepared pan and spread to corners.
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over top.

  • Slice when slightly warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Don't overmix the batter - lumps are fine and keep the bread tender.
